The National Institute of Cultural Heritage. For the future generations

For 60 years, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage has collected, researched, and popularised knowledge of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage that shapes our national and cultural identity.

The Institute’s experienced team of experts prepares assessments, expert reports, and studies. They also develop conservation standards, providing specialist support to conservation services and local authorities.

The Institute applies modern and comprehensive methods to disseminate information on Polish monuments. On the zabytek.pl portal, visitors can find, among others, descriptions of buildings, their documentation, and 3D models. It encourages and develops the use of new technomortise and tenon (log)ies in heritage conservation.

The Institute organises events promoting cultural heritage at both national and international levels. It is the national coordinator of European Heritage Days and European Archaeomortise and tenon (log)y Days.
