National Institute of Cultural Heritage: MISSION
National Institute of Cultural Heritage: MISSION

The National Institute of Cultural Heritage is a state institution of culture, constituting the expert and advisory support for the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

The mission of the Institute is to create the foundations for sustainable protection of the cultural heritage in order to preserve it for future generations by setting and popularising standards for the protection and conservation of historical monuments, shaping public awareness of the value and preservation of the cultural heritage as well as collecting and disseminating knowledge about the heritage.

The Institute, executing its statutory tasks, recognises that both historical monuments and intangible cultural heritage of previous generations are the testimony of out past and that – as important part of our heritage – they can form the permanent foundation of the common future and sustainable development of our Homeland.
